So, time management really is a big deal when it comes to stress management.

Feeling that you are not in control of your time is a major cause of stress but it’s something that can be tackled by choosing your priorities (and sticking to them!)

A few tips to help:

Tip 1:  Make Sure you Have Healthy Boundaries Between Work and Home.

I get that setting boundaries aren’t easy. It can quickly become stressful if it’s not something you are use to.

Especially the part you have to let people know where your needs and limits are. However your inability to set boundaries between work and home can lead to stress which then can lead to burnout.

I know this can be a big challenge for entrepreneurs however it goes without saying that separating your personal life from your work life can increase your work productivity.

You don’t want your home to suffer because of work demands and maybe the other way round in a way.

Tip 2:  Prioritise Your Tasks!

If you’re struggling with your never-ending to-do list, then prioritising your tasks according to how important they really are is a great start.

If you have to get one or two things done, make sure they are some of the really key ones.

Then look at the tasks that you’ve deemed lowest priority and think about whether you can bring in any outside help to get them done.

Tip 3: Learn to Say No

Learning to say no can be hugely beneficial for time management, especially for setting healthy boundaries and prioritising your to-do list.

This can help you avoid the potential for over-stretching yourself because you feel obliged to agree.

Tip 4: Build Time for Relaxation and Downtime Into Your Schedule.  

This is super important for keeping stress under control and avoiding burnout.

This is where a ‘me-time’ is very important. You need time to forget about your tasks, targets, worries, expectations, and just check in with yourself.

I like to say go on a date with yourself. Pick a day or two in the week and enjoy a lovely spa day at home.

Create the atmosphere you love, add some essential oils for lovely aroma, play some relaxing music, hey, custom your spa day to your taste.

Make this into a weekly routine. The result overtime will amaze you.  Trust me, it’s not a lonely exercise, it’s a healthy exercise for you mind, body & spirit.

Tip 5:  Try Protective Activities

Don’t forget about exercise and spending time with family and friends too. A healthy balanced life requires deliberate nourishment - nourishment on plate, relationships, physical activity, home environment, social life, spirituality, you get the idea.

These are ‘protective’ activities that help to keep a healthy balance in your life so you definitely don’t want to skimp on them. So, that create time.
